GENESEE COUNTY— Eighteen-year-olds, as of now, can still buy tobacco products in Genesee County, after a ruling Monday by Seventh Circuit Court Judge Judith Fullerton put a halt to the divisive Tobacco 21 ordinance.

Duties increase in shared services contract with Atherton

DAVISON— In addition to continuing to oversee Business Services for Atherton Community Schools, Davison will now begin to manage the Burton district’s custodial, maintenance and transportation services.

Davison Board of Education members voted recently to ink the one-year contract effective for the 2017-2018 school year.

Flint Township board sends message on marijuana facilities

FLINT TWP.— With a look ahead to future state medical marijuana regulations, the township board has approved a resolution of intent for its local rules.

The resolution is designed to ”send a message” of the township’s intent to those who will be investing in the industry, said Tracey Tucker, township building director.

FLINT– Brisk and windy conditions greeted the junior golfers taking part in the annual Flint Jr. Golf Association summer league that opened on Monday at the Flint Golf Club.

The league is divided into 5-hole, 9-hole and 18-hole divisions with the high school-aged golfers playing in the Jack Nicklaus division.
