Powers freshman wins FJGA Mallon Cup
LINDEN– The Flint Jr. Golf Association awarded the last major of the season on Monday at Spring Meadows Country Club. Powers Catholic freshman Jolie Brochu carded a career-low 78 to win the coveted Mallon Cup in the Jack Nicklaus Group. Fenton’s Jackson Forguth won the title for the boys in the Jack Nicklaus Group.
Miracle League looking to build local facility
MUNDY TOWNSHIP– The Miracle League of Greater Flint is currently in the process of cultivating a new ball park in Mundy Township, which it is aiming to place on Hill Rd near US 23. The initiative has gained quite a bit of support, most notably from Flint native and baseball legend Jim Abbott.
Camp provides softball tips to 35 youngsters
DAVISON– Rob Markwardt, head Davison softball coach, put on his third summer camp at the high school’s varsity field two weeks to an age-specific audience, and the camp is an obvious success as 35 sixth-through-eighth graders were in attendance.
